The Story of Fastai

I thought it would be fun to take a look at an AI Podcast discussion with Jeremy Howard, the founder of Fastai (along with Rachel Thomas).  Jeremy is the driving force behind both the fastai api for building deep learning applications as well as the fastai deep learning courses.

You can watch the podcast here, or at this link.

Fastai is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the accessibility of working with deep learning.  The fastai library was just enhanced with a version 2 rev this year, and the new course that we are featuring here at HTC in our HTC Education Series: Getting Started with Deep Learning is based on the new version 2 api.

Jeremy talks about the origins of fastai as well as how the course has evolved over time, and about their ultimate goal of making deep learning so easy that the need to learn specialized programming techniques will go away.

Jeremy is truly a fascinating individual, and what fastai is trying to do is really inspirational.
